I have been doing Science work since the 8th grade when I was investigating what type of bacteria lives in water that would normally go down the sink.  After mainly doing research about bacteria in high school, I studied the effects of schizophrenia on the brains of rats at USC.  For my PhD research, I studied how a rare form of epilepsy is caused by a tiny defect in a protein in the brain that allows brain cells to conduct electricity.
