Mr. Stamper
Looking forward to meeting you! My name is Kyle Stamper and I have been teaching for 27 years. I grew up in Escondido and graduated high school in 1984. Go San Pasqual Fighting Eagles! I earned my Associate of Arts degree at Palomar College and then attended CSU Chico for two years. Chico was amazing and really filled me with a love of learning. Money was tight, so I moved back home and attended CSU San Marcos and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree. College was so much fun and I really value the time I spent at Chico; I made many friendships that are still important to me today. My first job out of college was working for Penske Truck Leasing and it taught me a lot, but I was not happy in sales. I wanted to teach. I began teaching at Westmont Elementary in Pomona. The fourth grade was great and the year flew by. The next year I taught 5th and then moved into 6th grade the following year. I really enjoyed 6th grade and stayed there for many years. I moved south to teach at Terra Cotta Middle School in Lake Elsinore because we had our first child and the drive from Canyon Lake to Pomona was too far. I had 6th and 7th graders for math, language arts, social studies, and science. It was a super busy year! The next year I taught 6th-grade math and really enjoyed it. I transferred to the Romoland District and taught 6th-grade language arts in 2007. The following year, I was able to get into a 6th-grade math position and stayed there for 6 years. There have been many years where I also taught 7th-grade math; seventh grade moves fast and is a blast! The 6th-grade teachers moved back to the elementary schools while the new middle school was being built and I had a lot of fun. I stayed at Mesa View for six years and even brought my own two children there. After my son finished 5th grade, I moved back to our middle school and happily taught math to 6th and 7th graders. I have taught for twenty-seven years and have found the saying, "Effort equals results" to be very true.
In 2020 I met the love of my life, and her four kids, who are all young adults. She is a Band Director at Elsinore Middle School and is absolutely amazing in and out of the classroom! I am not skilled in the Arts arena and have come to really enjoy and appreciate her Band program. I blew it by not learning to play a musical instrument when I was in school. Our family life is complex and busy, but we still do our best to attend church on Sunday and have an active prayer life. She has triplets! Two of the triplets are finishing college and looking to become educators! One is looking to be a Band Director and continue her mother’s amazing work at Elsinore Middle School. The second triplet plans on being a high school English teacher. Her two boys are both skilled and are working full time jobs. My daughter, Faith begins college this year at CBU and plans on earning a degree in engineering! My son Garrett loves to ride his motorcycle and has stepped up to the 250 cc class. He hopes to finish high school in the next two years and work towards becoming a fireman!
All in all, life is great in every sense of the word. I look forward to working with my students in the classroom and planning family adventures during breaks. I believe we have about five more years in the classroom and then our next adventure begins….
