My name is Eric Sams and I love to teach the most important subject in school...Physical Education!  I grew up in sunny San Diego and attended San Diego State University (Go Aztecs) where I received my Bachelors Degree in Physical Education w/Teaching Emphasis.  After I graduated, I worked as an ACE (American Council on Exercise) Certified Personal Fitness Trainer where I trained hundreds of  individuals and groups to help them achieve their fitness goals.

With the birth of my son Tanner, I opted to study for my Teaching Credential through National University. Then I got my first job at my old alma mater, Crawford High School, where I was teaching Life Skills for moderate to severely disabled children.  After 2 years of working with Special needs students, I was hired as a Physical Education Teacher at Gompers Senior/Middle School.  After that, I was hired as the 7-8 grade PE teacher at Harvest Valley in the Romoland School District and that led me to where I am today.  I was lucky enough to be one of the districts teachers to open CHASE M.S. and have loved life ever since.

I enjoy staying active and have been studying Kung Fu at the White Dragon Martial Arts School for over 15 years. My family is most important to me, and along with my son Tanner, I have a beautiful wife named Armida and her two wonderful kids Gabriela and Rodrigo.  I continue to learn how to be an effective teacher by learning from the kids and watching the other great teachers we have here at Chase. Go Scorpions!!!
